Educational math games for kids

The best way to engage kids in learning activities is through games.  So, I decided to put a list of fun but educational math games together for your class to enjoy!

MATH:

Nerdle-the daily numbers game:  On Nerdle, there is a new math problem to figure out every day (you can even turn this into a daily thing or a Friday treat!)  In Nerdle, you have an amount of 6 guesses and you have to figure out the number sequence by entering in number sentences (you can see the example photo below).  A green number means the number is in the equation and in the right spot, purple means the number is in the equation but not in the right spot, and black means the number is not in the equation at all.  Play Nerdle here: https://nerdlegame.com/

Mathgames.com:  Math games is a website with multiple math games to choose from.  Before you begin playing a game, it will ask you your grade and what math skill you are practicing.  NOTE:  They are a lot of fun!  Play here: https://www.mathgames.com/
Reflex:  Use Reflex to help kids build up their adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing skills!  Great for helping with memorizing and getting those facts down.  Check out Reflex here: https://www.reflexmath.com/

Journalling tips for beginners (❁´◡`❁)

Journalling is fun and a relaxing way to unwind after a long day!  You can jot down feelings, the weather, what you did, and whatever you feel like saying!   Here are some tips to get you started. 1.  The proper journal/diary: Your journal does not have to be fancy, however, I usually try to pick out aesthetically pleasing journals just because I find them better to write in 😊.  I also personalize my journals by putting stickers or doodling on the cover.   2. How to start:  You can just start writing by putting the date and the weather then write about your day.  If you prefer, you can begin your entry by writing "dear diary." 3.  Example entry:  Here is an example entry that I wrote for this blog: Saturday, January 7, 2023 Dear Diary, Today it is cloudy and gloomy outside.  This morning I went shopping and bought some groceries.  I plan on doing some artwork after dinner today.  I am still mad at Rhea for dropping the tray down the stairs. 4.  The digital option:  althoug

BOOK REVIEW: All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

Today, I will write about the book All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven.  I would recommend the age rating of this book to be 12+ and the genre of this book is romance💖 , I am giving this book 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ because it is now one of my favorite romance novels.  This book has its happy parts, however, the end of the book for me was heart-breaking and a dramatic twist at the same time. This novel is about 2 people named Violet Markley and Theodore Finch, who both have their own problems and their own lives.  Violet has never been the same since her sister, Eleanor was killed in a car accident, and is afraid of many things.  Theodore (or Finch as everyone calls him) is dealing with depression and thinks of suicide.  When Violet and Finch meet on the ledge of their school bell tower everything changes for them forever.  They fall in love, and little by little they begin to learn more about each other more and more. If you are a person who loves a dramatic twist or just an emotional ro

Book review: One of us is lying by Karen M. McManus

This book has been on my GoodReads "want to read" list for a while so it was both satisfying to finally get it off my list but it was also a very thrilling and twisting mystery novel.  In this book, each character has their own section which I found kind of neat to see each of the perspectives of the characters and how different their personalities and lives are.  I would recommend this book for young adults 13 and up as it does have some coarse language and some mature circumstances and scenes.  The main characters in the book are Bronwyn who is an intelligent girl who comes from a family of Yale graduates, Cooper who is an all-star baseball player, Addy who is known at Bayview high as being popular and beautiful, Nate who is already on Probation for dealing drugs, and Simon who is the creator of the gossip app About That.  The five of them end up in detention and by the end of detention, Simon is dead.  This book made me feel a lot of emotions at one point I felt bad for
